Lord Jesus, humble Servant and Eternal Deacon,
during this Lent we pray for those You call to the diaconate.
Strengthen the candidates:help them fast from sin,
pray with fervent hearts, and serve the poor and the Church with generous love.
Purify their discernment, form them in fidelity, and prepare them to proclaim
Your Gospel, serve at Your Altar, and minister joyfully to Your people.
Through Mary and the holy deacons—Stephen, Lawrence, Francis,
guide and bless their path to ordination.
